GET TRAINED AS AN
EXECUTIVE COACH
In this two-year program, ACE Academy selects and trains experienced leaders to become executive coaches for school principals. Coaches in training learn to help talented Adventist school principals become their best selves by cultivating the talents and abilities of executive leadership.
Our executive coach training program is an opportunity for exceptional leaders in Adventist education to increase their impact while cultivating new skills and opening exciting career pathways.
Completing the curriculum awards up to 80 CEU credits, as well as the opportunity to become certified as an executive coach. Some coaches have leveraged the training they received through the program to build successful coaching practices and broaden their leadership impact. This program is offered at no cost to the coaches-in-training.
- Establish a purpose-driven, trust-filled coaching engagement with a school leader
- Utilize a variety of leadership assessments that equip the leader with actionable insights about their leadership style, behaviors and perceptions
- Elevate meaningful growth areas for the leader and engage them in an impactful personalized development plan
- Use proven coaching tools and strategies that facilitate lasting behavior change within the leader
- Demonstrate the nine ACE Coaching Competencies that create transformative coaching conversations
Our training program includes:
- Interactive training sessions
- 1:1 guidance from a mentor coach
- Small group support from peer coaches
- Monthly coaching sessions in which you coach 2-3 school leaders in the field
- Access to our online resource library including training videos, coaching tips and tricks, and curriculum resources
Program Time and Travel Commitments
- In-Person ACE Executive Coach Summer Intensives:
- Four days, July 15-19, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia
- Four days, July 2025, Dates and location TBD
- Monthly virtual learning sessions on the third Thursday of each month from 1-4pm EST
- Monthly one-hour coaching sessions with each coaching “client” (ACE Academy will assign 2-3 school leaders for you to coach each month for the two-year period)
- One-hour calls with your mentor every other month
Executive Coach Qualifications
We are seeking candidates that have:
- A desire to coach leaders beyond the two-year training period (This program is offered at no cost to the coach-in-training. Our intention is that our investment in your skillset will provide value to Adventist education for years to come.)
- Passion for strengthening Adventist education by cultivating visionary, strategic principals
- A commitment to equity for every child and family
- A minimum of three years’ experience in an executive-level leadership position, with demonstrated success in:
- Articulating a vision
- Building teams
- Shaping organizational culture
- Engaging a board
- Employing data to improve decision making
- Instructional supervision
- A deep understanding of:
- The Seventh-day Adventist education system
- The day-to-day realities and pressures facing principals
- The business and financial aspects of running a private school
- The hallmarks of culturally responsive leadership
- The ability to employ a range of technologies to work with others
- Availability to travel occasionally
- Ability to meet all program commitments and training sessions
Application Process
- Ask your superintendent to complete a recommendation
- Review your application, and if appropriate, invite you for an interview with the ACE Academy leadership team
- If selected, provide you with a formal invitation to the program
